Jötunnslayer : Hordes of Hel is a bullet hell roguelite in the tradition of Vampire Survivors , a genre of game I ’m quickly coming to appreciate . While Jötunnslayer : Hordes of Hel stand out with its Norse mythology aesthetic and heavy dark fantasy , Diablo - similar visuals , the Early Access secret plan could use some work before launch . That being said , it ’s far from a spoilt biz even in its early state and is worth checking out if you ’re a devotee of the writing style .

While this might seem like a big undertaking , the abilities presently cross an extreme spectrum — from visually stunning and pleasurable to dead unsatisfying and weak . This asymmetry makes it well-off ( at least for me ) to stay put to a handful of mightiness across multiple game .

During one of my normal trouble turn tail on Niflheim , I have a sudden drop in flesh rates during a fight with the Bone Jötunn . I ’m shy what triggered it , but the drop made the competitiveness well-nigh unplayable . My Berserker began skip over across the screen , and dodging tone-beginning became almost impossible . Frustratingly , this lead to me losing the meeting , delete 20 minutes of feat and the associated unlocks .
This topic persisted every time I confront the Bone Jötunn on normal difficultness , forcing me to oppose at about five frames per second . This random functioning drop is distinctly a bug , in all likelihood tied to one of the titan ’s limited relocation . Hopefully , it ’s something that will be resolved before the game go away other Access .
While I ’ve both praised and criticized the game ’s ocular presentation — praising its aesthetic and backgrounds while critiquing the power and role design — I feel Jötunnslayer : Hordes of Hel will in all probability appeal to many lover of the genre , with some minor tweak and a thorough bug - repair flip , it has the potential to emerge from former Access as a popular title .
